Heath Burne is one of the longest serving and experienced employees at Synel UK. He is the Sales Division Manager, leading the UK sales team and helping customers finding the ideal solution for their needs. He has always met or exceeded his sales goals over his eighteen-year career in the business. He is a dedicated Synel manager and one the best to turn to for advice.
What is your role at Synel? I am the UK Division Sales Manager for Synel. My role is to lead the sales team with the responsibility for new business generation and partner development within the business.
What is your proudest moment at Synel? After 18 years, there have been many excellent moments and memories throughout my time at Synel.
What is the favourite part about working for Synel? Synel UK is a company that sits on the leading edge of Workforce management technology. This role enables me to meet many different people with many varied and interesting projects, from smaller SME’s to large enterprise organisations, the role can be challenging, but that is one of the elements I very much enjoy.
What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with Synel? That’s a tricky question to give a concise answer too. I suppose the answer is to see the company grow, bringing many new developments and technologies to the workforce management and education divisions of our business.
What advice do you have for prospective Synel candidates? There are lots of possible answers to that question. My two best bits of advice would be, always do your best to be open and transparent, customers always appreciate an honest answer, even if it is not always what people want to here. The second is to always keep your promises, to customers and colleagues, that way you know you have always done your best.
How do you balance your career at Synel and family? This is probably a question best answered by my partner !!!! In truth it is not easy, 24/7/365 email and messaging does make switching off difficult. But always make time for your family.
Tell us three things most people don’t know about you… I have a real weakness for cheese and chocolate sandwiches. I am a keen fencer, not always easy to hide the bruises. I once spent some time chatting to Prince Phillip in the car park of the Royal Windsor Farm Shop talking about the weather, that was a surreal moment !!.
How do you define success? Being truly happy with the choices you make in your life.
What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work? Well, work is a very big part of my life, but spending time with my 3 children, Swimming, Fencing, Skiing and Golf……..
What tv show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love? Has to be Gogglebox. I got into it on a holiday in Australia.
