Schlage HandPunch Readers ceasing production

Schlage device

Following the recent announcement from Allegion (UK) Limited, Allegion will be ceasing production of their Schlage HandPunch biometric readers.

The decision has come following a change in recent market trends where hand based biometric readers are becoming obsolete technology, especially with more and more businesses employing more modern biometric solutions which benefit from fingerprint and facial recognition capability.

If your organisation currently uses the Allegion Schlage HandPunch reader, it is worth noting that new Allegion Schlage devices and spares will be ceasing production and the timeframes for obtaining replacements or servicing will be impacted as follows…

  • New orders must be placed by 15th June 2021
  • Last service requests will be 31st August 2021
  • Last day for receipt of RMAs will be 15th September 2021

With spare parts for the Schlage range likely to become difficult to get hold of and support becoming more and more limited, now is the right time to consider upgrading to a more modern time and attendance terminal solution.

Synel offers a range of time and attendance data capture readers which are an ideal replacement for HandPunch readers as they can integrate seamlessly with your existing time and attendance solution and offer the latest technology.

Synel’s Synergy range of devices offer various functionality for businesses of all shapes and sizes, as well as various technologies and authentication methods, including card/fob reader, PIN, Fingerprint, touchscreen, and contactless via facial recognition.
